Our Mission

Decoded Fashion is the top global event series connecting decision-makers in Fashion, Beauty and Retail with emerging and established technology companies.

Our mission is to expose the fashion community to new ideas, demystify technology and foster creative partnerships between tech startups, designers, retailers and media professionals in highly interactive summit formats.

Events include top-level speaker session, live demonstrations, hackathons, mentorship sessions and fashion startup competitions in New York, London and Milan and a global networking series – DF Meetups – in 12 countries, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland and Singapore.

DF DEFINITIONS:

Fashion Pitch: A competition for new Fashion & Retail startups with a B2B angle.

Hackathon: A 24-hour competition to create relevant apps for Fashion & Retail alongside top industry mentors.

Meetup: A global networking series with panel discussions and new technology demos.

Mentorship Hub: An area at DF Summits where tech founders are offered short mentorship sessions by top industry experts.

Startup Demo: A 5-10 minute demonstration of a new technology or business concept.

TIMELINE:

APR 2012 – DF is the first summit to showcase and push collaborations between top Tech founders and leaders in Fashion & Retail.

NOV 2012 – DF Summit launches in London with the support of the Prime Minister’s GREAT Campaign. The Fashion Pitch competition offers $50k for the best early-stage startup.

FEB 2013 – The World’s First Fashion Hackathon creates over 70 apps and becomes the first tech event at the tents of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

OCT 2013 – Milan’s Decoded Fashion Summit & Expo, produced with ePitti, is the first tech-oriented event for leading Italian brands.

MAY 2014 – The Fashion Hackathon launches in London with the support of the British Fashion Council.
